Hello there!

I am a high school math teacher and founder of Mathsunderstood. I have a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics, a Diploma in Teaching (Double Option Mathematics) with several years of experience teaching high school students in Jamaica and in the United States.

I engage students in personalized lessons aimed at improving their performance levels in math, algebra, and geometry, as well as preparing for quizzes, tests, or exams. During tutoring sessions, students are engaged in personalized activities aimed at helping them achieve a specific set of math learning goals.

My teaching experience spans from grades 7 to 12, encompassing online, hybrid, asynchronous, and in-person settings. Moreover, I have a strong background in supporting students with special needs, implementing 504 and IEP accommodations, and preparing them for assessments and exams.

While math may seem daunting, fear not! Tutoring sessions are engaging, insightful, and, most importantly, productive. With the right strategies implemented, students are provided with the support needed to achieve improved math scores and skills along with an increased confidence in their mathematical abilities. ✨
